Project NRISINGH, a transformative initiative aimed at spreading literacy and life skills, has made a significant impact in Birgunj, Nepal. This project was spearheaded by Unnati Keshari, a student at Kathmandu University School of Management, as part of her Social Experience Project, with a focus on empowering Class 10 students in the region.
The project commenced with a career counseling session, offering students critical guidance on their future career paths and ambitions. By providing them with tools for making informed decisions about their education and career, the initiative sought to inspire and direct students toward productive futures.

An Art Competition and an Oratory Competition were also organized, allowing students to express their creativity and hone public speaking skills under the theme ‘Role of Education in Peacebuilding.’ These activities fostered a sense of responsibility and highlighted the importance of education in contributing to societal peace and progress.
In addition to educational initiatives, Project NRISINGH incorporated a plantation drive, emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship. Students actively participated in tree planting, symbolizing both environmental awareness and a commitment to nurturing their communities.
The project, in partnership with E-shikshalaya, provided digital study materials to over 300 students, making quality education more accessible through technology. The availability of free digital resources empowered students with tools for enhanced learning.
Moreover, health and social awareness programs were conducted to educate students on essential topics such as menstrual hygiene, the importance of clean drinking water, and healthy living practices. These sessions were vital in promoting overall well-being alongside academic development.
The success of Project NRISINGH was made possible through collaborations with key partners, including Nepal Unites, LIBAS Collection, and E-shikshalaya. These partnerships played a crucial role in bringing the project to fruition, with each contributing to the holistic development of the students involved.
